A Few Things You Might Want to Know... About Me!

Hello!

In case we haven't met before, here's a very short version of who I am...

My name is Ellie, I'm twenty-four years old and am soon to be a #firstyear dental hygiene and therapy student! I’m originally from London and have been working in a private award-winning dental practice in Central London, for just over two years, as a patient coordinator. Alongside this, I manage their Instagram account and other social media platforms.

Unlike many dental hygiene and therapy students, I’m not a qualified dental nurse and I haven't come directly from sixth-form. I am a mature student and I have completed an #AccesstoHEDiploma allowing me to apply for university. I was successful in being invited to four #interviews, and have firmed the University of Leeds, and selected Cardiff University as my insurance option.

Aside from my work and study, I really enjoy practicing yoga, cooking, traveling, and anything that happens to involve a list or spreadsheet (sad I know!)

I’ve created 'The Student Tooth Therapist' Instagram and accompanying blog, to document my journey studying dental hygiene and therapy. Alongside networking, I hope it will enable me to advise others on the #applicationprocess, especially those trying to access DHDT through alternative entry. I intend to help and inspire others who are trying to make the leap and I also aim to provide some good insight into the course itself. (Disclaimer: I certainly don't claim to be an expert, but I hope to help however I can by giving access to my personal experiences).
